At ZØY®, each piece of jewelry is created as a form of wearable art. From the choice of materials to the finishing touches, every detail is carefully considered to balance beauty, craftsmanship, and everyday wearability.

Materials

Our jewelry is crafted using a selection of carefully chosen materials, including gold- or silver-plated brass, stainless steel, solid silver (925 sterling silver, 950 silver or 999 silver), as well as gold vermeil (gold-plated sterling silver).

Many of our designs use brass as the base material due to its excellent malleability, allowing intricate sculptural forms and refined surface textures to be brought to life. By choosing brass, we are able to bring together beautiful design, intricate craftsmanship, and accessible pricing, while maintaining a high level of detail.

Brass is also lighter than solid silver, making many designs easier and more comfortable to wear, especially for larger or more sculptural pieces.

Some of our simpler designs use stainless steel, valued for its durability and stability, making it well suited for everyday wear.

Selected designs are also available in 925 sterling silver, 950 silver or 999 silver for those who prefer solid silver jewelry.

We also offer gold vermeil, where a thick layer of gold is applied over sterling silver. Compared to standard plating, gold vermeil provides a more durable and refined finish, while offering a balance between the richness of gold and the strength of silver.

In addition to metals, certain designs may incorporate materials such as silk, pearls, glass, or natural stones, creating contrast in texture, color, and form.

All of our jewelry is nickel-free and suitable for sensitive skin.

Craftsmanship

Most ZØY pieces are crafted using lost-wax casting, a technique that allows complex sculptural details to be faithfully translated from design into metal.

After casting, each piece is carefully hand-finished, with refined surface textures such as polished, matte, brushed, sandblasted, oxidized, or bright silver finishes to highlight the depth and character of the design.

Many pieces are further protected with multiple layers of plating and protective coating, enhancing durability while preserving their luminous finish.

Small-Batch Production

Our jewelry is produced in small batches, allowing us to maintain attention to detail and consistency in craftsmanship.

Due to the handcrafted nature of the designs and small-batch production, slight variations between pieces or batches may occur, making each piece subtly unique.
